CHAPTER LEADER APPLICATION


Application Criteria

To qualify for a position as a Significant Living Chapter Leader:

1. Those seeking to become the leader of a Significant Living Chapter are required to complete this application.

2. You must be at least 50 years old at the time of this application

3. Leader Chapter dues are $35.00.  You will not be required to pay the additional $15.00 individual member dues if you become a leader. Notification and instructions for submitting leadership dues will be sent to you along with notification that we have received and processed your application. $35.00 leadership dues include: leader’s manual with ideas for recruiting members, invitations that you can download or print, creative ideas for meeting agendas, how to start a special mission or volunteer project, PLUS a Significant Living shirt and hat, Jerry and Shirley Rose’s book Significant Living, 10 magazines, a DVD, your password to the Significant Living blog, the Chapter charter, your personal Significant Living Chapter card and more.

4. If you are not already a member of Significant Living, the parent organization of Significant Living Chapters, you will be encouraged to do so within three months after you become a Chapter leader. Visit www.significantliving.org or call 800-443-0227 to learn about all the benefits of a Significant Living membership, beyond the Chapters and how to join the organization.

5. Plan to accept your Chapter leadership role for a one-year period (unless circumstances beyond your control occur.) And then help recruit a new leader to assume your Chapter leadership position.

6. You are presumed to have had some previous leadership experience in a small group, organization or club.

7. You are required to support the vision and mission of Significant Living.

8. You are expected to be a role model for other Significant Living Chapter leaders and members.

9. You are expected to help recruit Chapter members and invite participants to meetings.

10. You are expected to hold a meeting or event a minimum of one time per month.

11. You will be responsible to select a name for your Chapter. Each separate Chapter will have its own unique name.

12. You are asked to keep accurate records of meetings and submit member paperwork on a timely basis.  Chapter record keeping is minimal.

13. You will be required to identify a local outreach project that you will want members to participate.  Service is an important part of Significant Living Chapters mission.

14.
